The Gentle Barn is an animal sanctuary in Santa Clarita, CA – and a favorite charity among Weed Pro employees.  The Gentle Barn focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating animals of all types.  The barn is home to cows, horses, pigs, goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, and more! 

The folks at the barn don’t stop at helping animals – they help people, too.  They welcome groups of children, at-risk kids, teens, and adults to the barn.  The groups can tour the facility and interact with the animals.  The visitors learn about the type of abuse the animals endured prior to their arrival at the Gentle Barn.  The animals greet everyone with kindness and curiosity.  However, when many of the animals first arrived, they were scared, sickly, and many were on the brink of death!  With hard work and patience, the animals grew to trust humans again.  The lesson for the visitors is that it’s never too late to turn ANY life around. 

The Gentle Barn accepts donations of any amount.  You can sponsor an animal or purchase a calendar featuring several of these special pets.  You can visit their website at www.gentlebarn.org, read some of the stories, and see pictures of the animals.  Rumor has it that one special Weed Pro customer is in the planning stages of opening a similar facility in Ohio!  One person CAN make a difference in the lives of people and animals alike.  Have a great Saturday!
