This year, the Cabin Fever festival, Today from 3pm to Midnight, is being held for Karlie Plas, a 2012 Midview graduate who, at age 13, was diagnosed with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS - a malignant cancer). Karlie has had numerous surgeries, four rounds of radiation, chemotherapy, and she has been steadily in and out of the hospital due to infections, blood transfusions, blood counts, etc.
Karlie is the oldest child of Kellie Darby Plas. Kellie is a single mom raising a family of six children, ranging from ages 4-18, all on her own. The stress of Karlie's diagnosis is intensified by the financial burden and the medical administrative "red tape."
Cost of admission is $8 ($3 for children 10 and under). BUT, with this fee, FREE FOOD will be provided for the entire event (Hot dogs, sloppy joes, nachos, pop and water, popcorn, and all kinds of sweets will be available). There will be live bands all day, games, and raffles. Items being raffled are things like Indians Tickets, Lawn Care Services, Football Hall of Fame Tickets, Haircuts, Art Classes, Restaurant Gift Certificates, and much, much, more!! Live performances by the following bands:
The King & The Rook
Newshoes
Oceanspeak
Eli Radosevich
False
Come Wind
Midnight Passenger
The Soggy Bottom Boys
Brianna Adams with Brad Newshutz
ALL proceeds raised at the event goes to Karlie and her family. And of course, there will be a big fire to close out the night.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and spend the day listening to some talented musicians and most importantly come support this family.
