Finding the Best Fertilizer Companies Near Me

Posted by: Hannah McIntire on June 4, 2018

ThinkstockPhotos-148130431There are many lawn care companies out there, but let me help you out with some of my lawn care knowledge. I am sure you've typed “ lawn fertilizer companies near me” in the Google search bar once or twice, but sometimes Google does not know everything. Different lawn care companies can specialize in different treatments like fertilizing, lawn and landscaping, weed control, or maybe lawn mowing. There are a few different ways you can separate the great lawn fertilizing companies from the not so great ones. The internet has plenty of resources to help you find what company is right for you and your lawn. Fertilizing your lawn every year is important, but it is more important that the company you hire is going to fertilize your lawn correctly.

    Look at Company Reviews

Check out what other people said about the company, a simple place to start is with reviews. Look at reviews from other satisfied or disappointed customers. Reading a lawn care provider’s reviews can say a lot about them, whether they are on time, friendly, or if they actually treat lawns correctly! Weed Pro has over 1,600 reviews with a 4.7 out of 5 star rating, pretty good if you ask me.

    • BBB

The Better Business Bureau is a private business that receives and filters customer reviews about companies, then they will give a company a rating based on their customer satisfaction. The highest rating is A+ and an F rating being the lowest. Here, you see the rating from the Better Business Bureau, and you can read the reviews that customers have left on the website. The BBB also shows if the customer is verified to make sure the reviews are legit and reliable.

    • Facebook

Facebook reviews are a great way to see customer feedback of any business that has a Facebook page. With Facebook, you will be able to see how many stars a customer leaves for the company, and they can leave comments as well. You may also filter reviews by most helpful, most recent, and star rating. On Facebook others can interact with the reviews by liking or commenting on them. The owner can also interact with these reviews. You can see how they respond and how they handle their customer service. This is also a great place to look for reviews, because in order to be able to post a review on Facebook the reviewer needs a profile. Having reviews being left by real profiles leads to having less fake reviews and more reliable reviews.

    • Google

With Google reviews, anyone can leave a review just by searching for a business in the search bar and finding their Google Place. A Google Place is the info box with the map on it at the top, to the right of the search results. While reading the reviews from customers, you can also read the businesses responses to reviews. If there is a negative review and the owner or a representative replies to the comment you can see how the company deals with problems for their customers. You may also filter reviews by most helpful, most recent, highest score and lowest score. This gives you the opportunity to filter out reviews that accurately fit the lawn care company’s level of service and a valid customer experience.

    Shop Local

It is always good to support local businesses, but it is better for your lawn to hire local lawn care companies. The climate in Ohio alone is so different from Cincinnati to Cleveland, it can be 50 degrees and raining in Cleveland and sunny and 80 degrees in southern Ohio. Local lawn care providers know their community lawns better than any other large national lawn care companies For example, TruGreen lawn care programs are based on the entire midwestern United States, that is nowhere near the specialized treatment a local company can give. Weed Pro has locations in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati that all have their own special fertilizing programs, because we know that different climates need different treatments in order to take care of the lawn as best as we can.

    Check Out the Website

A website can say a lot about a company. On their website you can find their services, mission statement, the company’s story, customer testimonials, and more. Some lawn care companies offer free quotes, saving you some money and letting you test them out risk free! Customer service is very important in lawn care, this company will be coming to your house many time throughout the summer, so you will want someone you know will take care of you and your lawn. Look for care tips and blog posts on their website, these will come in handy for you during your service, also it shows they care about you taking care of your lawn.

    Licensing

Licensing is important in professional lawn care. A company that provides local lawn care services without a license could be lacking the knowledge to properly take care of your lawn. Training and testing sessions are offered throughout the year for licenses to apply pesticides. This will insure the safe use of pesticides and can help prevent misuse mishandling. There are 30,000 licensed lawn care providers that apply pesticides in the state of Ohio. Finding a licensed local lawn care professional will give you peace of mind knowing your lawn will be safe. The Ohio Department of Agriculture is a great resource to use when searching for a licensed provider of local lawn care services. You can simply enter in the lawn care company you are considering and the Ohio Department of Agriculture database will show the address, county, and license category. Hiring a licensed lawn care service can be the difference between a healthy lawn and an unhealthy lawn, so be sure to check for licensure before hiring.
